Edith Christine Waltz died on January 21 at home in Buckingham, PA. Edie was born November 19, 1946 in Detroit, MI. A talented artist, seamstress, and designer, she studied at Wayne State University, MI. She then traveled to Ontario and enrolled in the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, winning a silver medal. She began a business and then taught art at prestigious colleges in Minnesota and Michigan. Later, moving to Eastern Pennsylvania, she obtained a master's in Information Systems from Drexel and worked at several pharmaceutical companies, still retaining an artistic mind. Despite poor health for many years, she continued sewing and knitting artistic textiles for friends and family, even as her eyesight failed. All knew her as a vivid conversationalist. Edie is survived by her son Malcolm and her granddaughter Elizabeth, as well as by six of her eleven siblings. Her former husband Mark Talaba predeceased her in 2017. A memorial service will be held at Salem United Church of Christ, 186 E. Court St. in Doylestown, PA, on May 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. |
